Welcome to my website.
Here you will find what motivates me creatively, the way I see my environment and the people that shape it. I never go far from home, no matter where that home might be.
What you’ll see here is mostly my personal work, with a small section of commissioned work.
I prefer my work to operate as a set, as opposed to a collection of one-offs and I admit, I am seldom satisfied!
Fascinated by specific places and community, I have made several projects referencing streets. Three of these were created in Amsterdam. Shown here are: ‘Beautiful Reality, Javastraat’ and ‘Zeedijk, on higher ground’. Also ‘Soup’ is a somewhat reduced story of a street in Brisbane, Aust.
To me these sets of work depict the necessities of life and the everyday actions and people that facilitate existence.
They are what we forget to see, or perhaps we deem the occurrences less important. Here I am suggesting that the beauty lies in the daily graft, or in a conversation, even if it pertains to a interaction initiated by me, as a photographer, and the person I seek to record.
